"Essentially, my argument is that students' digital identity directly affects the reputation of the school/district whether or not the activities happen at school or not. As well, if schools do not help to prepare students to understand and develop positive digital identities, then who will? Young people are generally uploading their first selfies to the web by the age of 9, and have very little guidance as to what they are doing. While teens do take up digital 'harm-reduction' strategies (e.g., having spam or 'finsta' instagram accounts), they typically trust far too much." - Dr. Alec Couros, Professor - Information and Communication Technologies, University of Regina
